Happy Valentines Day everyone! I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not the biggest fan of the holiday personally, but here are some ideas of sweets you can make for your Valentine! (Or for yourself to enjoy! Treat yo self!)…
Thursday Things
Happy almost Friday friends! It’s been a doozy of a past couple weeks, fun but non-stop. Literally haven’t really had a night at home to just sit and catch up on my shows in a two weeks. Between birthdays, work, travelling and tennis I’m running myself tired, but its worth it. Next week will be better.
Kirkley turned 2 last week. I have no idea how that happened either, but it did without my permission. I’ll play catch up on pictures later when I have a moment to breathe. Here’s a gif from her birthday party that Doug created from my father in laws pictures.

Chunky Guacamole With a Secret Ingredient
I have a confession. It’s terrible and horrible and I can hardly believe it myself. I used to hate guacamole. I know, it’s insane to think anyone could hate guacamole. Long ago in a land far away I used to hate a lot of things I now love. Onions, tomatoes, avocados, Brussels sprouts were all on the list. Now, I eat every one of those on a daily basis almost, no lie. …
Ironman 70.3 Galveston, TX Via Pictures
For the second year in a row, my husband claimed temporary insanity and completed his second half Ironman in Galveston. For those of you that don’t know, a half Ironman is a triathlon for crazy people and a whole Ironman is a distance for sadists. Basically the half is 70.3 miles consisting of 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and a 13.1 mile run, double that distance for a full. In all honesty, I am very proud of Doug for completing it again this year and my hats off to anyone who goes through that kind of test. I know he’s still considering doing a full in the next year even though as soon as he has crossed the finish line each year he’s said “never again”.
Quick Turkey Black Bean Chili
Don’t have a lot of time to prepare and cook a healthy dinner for your family on weeknights? I know exactly how you feel. I am all about quick and easy meals during the week. When I come home after a long day at the work and then a quick stop at the gym, I don’t want to spend another hour in the kitchen. I started making this Turkey Black Bean Chili a few months back and it’s become a household favorite. OK, so just Doug and I…but one day Kirkley will appreciate it too. Speaking of…go read my previous post and comment away. I could use more input (and feel like less of a loser).

Gardens, Phones, and Potty Training Help – Oh My!
Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Do anything exciting?? It was beautiful weather here in Texas finally. We aren’t used to cold weather into late March. I know you Northerners are rolling your eyes literally still knee-deep in snow as you read this :-). I live in Texas because I enjoy being warm, so the lengthy winter gave me the blues.

My Week in Pictures (and a couple videos)
Skinny Crustless Quiche
One of the biggest notable things that has changed about my cooking is probably that it is a lot more health conscious. While I still love a good cookie dough cupcake every now and then, my meals are a lot more calorie-centric. Baby weight was not kind to me and I definitely didn’t help myself in that department by baking every weekend….
