I have an addiction problem. It’s to cookbooks. It’s actually pretty serious. Just like my other addiction to cookies mentioned in my last post (which is why you get 2 cookie recipes back to back). Put those two things together, and you have my ultimate kryptonite, Mindy Segals Cookie Love. I knew when I saw this cookbook and the picture on the front I’d totally judge a book by it’s cover. I’m glad I did, because this cookbook has some fantastic and unique cookie recipes, and then some. Several I’ve been wanting to try out for a while now. …
Friday Favs / Weekend Reads
I no longer know what to call this post. Maybe I’ll call it my personal version of pinterest / things that I need to pin eventually. I actually really like these types of posts on other blogs, just to open my readers eyes to the things I find awesome. That being said, here you go! Happy Weekend! Hoping to get some time in the kitchen this weekend and share!…
Salted Campfire Cookies
I have a confession. Thought he may dispute this, Doug does not like everything I make. He’ll claim to “like everything” but after being together 8 years I know when he genuinely likes something verses “liking” something. It’s all in the tone, which he will deny but I can hear it. There was a very hefty claim made about these cookies the other day. He posted a picture of one on facebook and said I had made the “best cookie ever”. That’s some pretty high praise there.

Then she was 3 (Pic overload)
I asked Kirkley the other night t to stop growing so fast as we sat on the front porch rocking chairs of our new home. Her response was a sweet giggle and “I cannot do that, growing is too much fun.” Then I cried. I told her about how when she was a tiny baby I would sit in these very rocking chairs and sing to her while she slept. Then she proceeded to snuggle up to me and “sleep” while we sang Rock A Bye Baby and Twinkle Twinkle. I cried some more. I’m crying again as I recount that moment. I needed that moment. It made me realize how incredibly fast these little people grow. I know she’s only 3, but I swear to you last week she was only 3 months. And now I can’t stop crying.

Black Bean Avocado Salad
Individual Triple Berry Trifles
These past few weekends have really helped me get a few new recipes in. I think I like to tell you all that we have company over when I post these because I don’t want you to think I eat this way all the time. Good news is, these triple berry trifles are at least a semi-healthy dessert. It’s light and refreshing and the operative word lately…easy. Great to have ready for the 4th of July too!
