My my….not blogging much of anything for a month leaves so much to catch up on. As promised, I do have a delicious tasty treat coming up in the next post. I really really wanted to update you about my trip to my first Food Blog Conference. I’ve had so many people asking me how it went!
It really was quite a whirlwind trip unfortunately. I wish I would have had more time to visit Nashville itself, that will have to be saved for another time I guess. I didn’t get in until late Friday night, then bright and early fellow food blogger, Amy from Fearless Homemaker picked me up from my hotel. Side note, if you haven’t discovered Amys blog yet, you MUST do it now. She was the most amazing hostess for her city, taxied me around everywhere and showed me the sights on the way, so sweet!
The day really was amazing. I learned SO MUCH! There were such inspirational food blog names there, I can’t even begin to name them all. I got to meet Jaden and Scott from Steamy Kitchen, Todd and Diane from White on Rice Couple, Amanda from Kevin and Amanda, Jenny from Picky Palate, Brandi from Bran Appetit…the list can seriously go on a while. So many of my favorite food bloggers that have inspired me! Oh and I can’t forget Erin from Erins Food Files, who created the Red Velvet Cheesecake that got me started baking!

There were seminars and discussion groups all day long that were so incredibly informative, it was amazing. And to top it all off, the “SWAG” was out of this world. I will have to share some of my favorite items with you sometime soon and maybe even a giveaway in the future. Speaking of giveaways…everyone who was in attendance left with something amazing. I even won this amazing pots and pans set from Calphalon…which I am totally in love with now that I have had the opportunity to put them to use!

Sadly, I only remembered to take pictures during lunchtime. Obviously an important part of a Food Blog Conference. It was my first experience eating from a food truck. OK, so not my first experience, but first time eating from one of these amazing food trucks that have become the new trend in big cities, with real trained chefs. Riffs was a local favorite, Happy Eating had some amazing Asian cuisine and YaYos OMG was delicious Mexican food.
Some of the amazing fair that came from those trucks that we got to sample for free:
I had such a great experience and am so glad I went. I was in such a great mood, I upgraded myself to first class on the way back. Low and behold who is sitting in my row…county music legend, Randy Travis. I about had a heart attack when he walked on the plane. But was thankful that if the plane went down, at least he would be there to serenade me in my last moments. (JK…I am a fearful flier, couldn’t help that comment). I got to chat with him and everything, he was so nice. Sorry for the crappy picture, I didn’t really want to be too picky about the lighting as I ask the people boarding to stop long enough for me to take it.
Anyways, thats all about my wonderful experience. Actual recipes coming your way in a day or two, I promise!!
