Okay Okay…I know there are a million and a half
baking/cooking blogs, and even some friends who have them. I am not starting
anything new here or trying to compete, but I have recently in the past year
realized my love for baking and cooking (baking more so than cooking). I spend
half my time in the kitchen on the weekends we are home, and a lot of time
searching food blogs and looking at wonderful ideas
on tastespotting.com or foodgawker.com. Truth is since I got my beautiful red
KitchenAid stand mixer for our wedding it has made spending time in the kitchen
much more enjoyable and easy!
I have attempted blogging before, it
didn’t go so well. I would lose interest after a few posts and it would go by
the wayside. Soooo, I figured why not give it one more shot, I always post
pictures of the food I make on facebook and always have people asking for the
recipes. This is just much easier to keep track of what I bake and let everyone
know how to make it too!
So, who am I? Well odds are 99% of the people who
will ever read this, will know who I am and all about me. But on the off chance
that you are in that 1%, or maybe just don’t know me as well as you think…here
you go. My name is Amber Lewis (Johnson is my maiden name), 27 years old and I
live in Marshall, TX with my darling husband, Doug. I grew up in a small town
in the Hill Country called Bandera (just a bit outside of San Antonio). Was
involved in just about anything and everything from rodeo, tennis, student
council…you name it (probably a whole other post). After high school and a
year at the cheap community college, I ventured onto Texas A&M University in
College Station, TX (WHOOP). I graduated in 2005 with my BA in
Anthropology…no its not the study of bugs, thats entomology. Anthropology is
the study of people, culture (sorry I have to say that, because I get asked that
shockingly often.) Moving along…after college I moved to DFW where I worked
in staffing as a recruiter for 4 years, met the love of my life, moved back to
small town America, got married…and lived happily ever after!
Now that you have the rundown on who I
am…well…thats all I really have for this post. Don’t worry I will get into
some cooking soon. I made something tonight…but it takes a while to edit the
pictures and get things just right! Soooo…its almost my bedtime! Thanks for
reading!
