Deer Camp Cabbage
If you happen to know me and about my childhood, you know that I practically grew up at “deer camp”. Now for those of you that are unfamiliar with the term, it is the place you stay when you go hunting. Generally involves staying up late, playing poker or sitting around the campfire telling stories and looking at the stars. These memories are some of the fondest memories I have with my family. This is my Dad and I when I was about 2 years old at our very first “deer camp” in Seguin, TX:

The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie
Another birthday has come and gone, and it was another great one! I am so thankful to have such wonderful family and friends! (Even though I do wish we were closer to my parents and sister, but glad I got to see them a couple weeks ago!) I am finally starting to make some really great friends here in town and we had a great dinner and night out. …
Ashleigh’s Oreo Cupcakes
A fun thing about having a baking blog is people come up with ideas and want you to make it for you. One bad thing about having a baking blog..is people come up with ideas and want you to make it for them. Now don’t take this the way it sounds…by this I mean I am always my own worst critic. Strawberry Shortcake Time!
Its Strawberry season! Or at least I thought it was until I went to the store and there wasn’t but a few cases…but then again, Marshall isn’t known for its vast food selection. So of course I wanted to make something a little more appealing than the regular strawberry Shortcake. I searched and searched for an appealing angel food recipe and came across this one here. I tweaked it a little of course..(not much) and then added the strawberries and the whipped cream frosting from a tuxedo cake from the Pastry Queen. …
Chocolate Mousse with Mint Whipped Topping
Happy St. Patricks Day! Sorry…I know green font color isn’t the most conducive for my readers, but I just can’t help myself. I love festive holidays that are colorful and fun like St. Patricks Day! (Hence the green topping on the Mousse!) Plus, I am part Irish…I think….
Best. Cupcakes. Ever.
March…oh March. Probably one of my favorite months of the year. The weather is starting to get warmer, flowers and trees are blooming all over, and of course it’s my birthday month…and my parents anniversary. …
Crownies…Bookies….Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies!
While I was browsing around my food sites and finding new food blogs, I came across Bakerella. She had a post on there with these, which had a chocolate ganache topping. (I may have to try next time). If you are not a “from scratch” person, you should try these! In all honesty, I like how hers are about half chocolate chip cookies and half brownies. …
