I asked Kirkley the other night t to stop growing so fast as we sat on the front porch rocking chairs of our new home. Her response was a sweet giggle and “I cannot do that, growing is too much fun.” Then I cried. I told her about how when she was a tiny baby I would sit in these very rocking chairs and sing to her while she slept. Then she proceeded to snuggle up to me and “sleep” while we sang Rock A Bye Baby and Twinkle Twinkle. I cried some more. I’m crying again as I recount that moment. I needed that moment. It made me realize how incredibly fast these little people grow. I know she’s only 3, but I swear to you last week she was only 3 months. And now I can’t stop crying.

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Do anything exciting?? It was beautiful weather here in Texas finally. We aren’t used to cold weather into late March. I know you Northerners are rolling your eyes literally still knee-deep in snow as you read this :-). I live in Texas because I enjoy being warm, so the lengthy winter gave me the blues.

I’ve done it again. I fell into baby land so hard. Between being consumed by my beautiful family, work and sleepless nights blogging has become that thing I’ll never get to. I know most of my latest posts start this way. I feel bad, I do. As much as I love blogging other things come first. I have been baking and cooking though. I am even making a couple of wedding cakes this year, I am so excited about that! Aside from that…my baby girl is already 9 months old. This first year is going by entirely too fast. I wanted to share with those of you still hanging around some pictures from the last few months as well as document some of the fun things she is doing. I haven’t blogged any pictures since Sept, so this might be a bit pic heavy, I’ll do the collage version.
I’m warning you now. There are too many pictures in this post. I cant pick and choose what to share from the past 5 months. I did my best !

So apparently I suck at keeping my blogging word. No more empty promises of soon to be wonderful posts of recipes. Truth is, it takes quite a bit of time to do these recipe posts. Time isn’t really something I have a lot of lately. I have about 3 things I’ve photographed, but need to edit and type the recipe up. I guess for now, a blog post full of updates (aka, pictures of my baby) is better than nothing. Instead of Caleigh’s Kitchen…might as well be Caleigh’s Nursery for a while . I so badly want to find the time to post more….guess what. Being a working mom is a lot of work! Who knew? .

Yes friends, I am still alive. I just saw its been 172 days since my last post. I guess pregnancy just made me too tired. I took a long hiatus from the kitchen to sleep. Which I am glad I did, because I’m not getting near as much now. It’s all worth it though because now Caleigh’s Kitchen has a new assistant…Kirkley Mae!

Wow…it has been over a MONTH since my last post. I feel like the worst blogger in the history of bloggers. I’m sure there are many that have gone longer…but I feel like such a slacker.
