Sorry I’ve been a slacker this week! I really have no idea how some of these food bloggers manage to work a full week AND post a million recipes of their cooking throughout the week. Of course, some of them don’t work a full week in an office…some of them get paid to cook. Not this girl though, by the time I get home from work, some days I don’t feel like documenting my cooking then attempting to take beautiful pictures of the end result. I just want to eat some dinner and relax! Which is what happened this week. I’ve decided to give you two posts over the next couple of days. I know how tedious and distracted people get when they are trying to read a REALLY long post. The next o ne has a super yummy recipe for Tres Leches Cake, so be on the lookout!…

A Treat just for the Easter Bunny

Another Shoutout to my Peeps- Guest Blogger Recipe!
I mentioned last week sometime that I would have a guest blogger before Easter. My Aunt Jan typically makes fun Easter treats every year, and I saw a particularly fun one on her facebook not long ago. When she mentioned she would be making it with her grandchildren and my cousin Jaime, I asked if they would mind documenting it. This cake is a particularly fun one to do with little ones for Easter, or just for a fun cake for a family gathering. …
Browned Butter Rice Krispies with an Easter Twist!
Easter is always such a wonderful time of the year in general. The holiday itself represents so many things, overall, a new beginning. If there were ever a time to start fresh, now would be the it. Spring has sprung, the weather is perfect (for now…in Texas), and if you are a Texan, you know these perfect temps won’t last too long until the heat sets in. Of course, I am one of those Texans that LOVE the heat. I grew up outdoors, on the lake, fishing, camping…you name it. So for me, heat means fun on the water, outdoor BBQs, catching some sun…ahhh…..sorry, got a little side tracked there. Back to the present, and Easter and spring! …

Before I announce the winner of my first ever GIVEAWAY, I want to apologize for being a slacker this week and not posting a new blog. There are a TON of recipes I have sitting around that I am ready to try, but this week has been crazy! Strawberries Everywhere!!
Every year Dougs cousin, Amy, her daughters school does a fundraiser where they sell flats of strawberries. These strawberries come from southern Louisiana, and there are a TON of them. I seriously had no idea what I was in for. In the past week I have made homemade strawberry ice cream, and 5…yes 5 strawberry cobblers that I shared with many. And I STILL have pints left, so I plan on trying jam…which could be a huge failure, but I am still going to try….
It’s A Giveaway!!! (CLOSED- winner announced)
I always LOVE giveaways on Blogs, even if I don’t need something, I still want it. I’ve been wanting to do a good giveaway for a while now. I know typically in a giveaway, someone sponsors it and gives away a free prize. Well, since this blog hasn’t been around for that long and I have not looked very hard for a sponsor of a giveaway, I decided to sponsor one myself. (Doug contributed too). I am going to try and do a giveaway once every other month or so if I can, so if you would like to sponsor a giveaway, please contact me.
If you are one of the individuals who follows me who is from Marshall, then you already know what I am about to tell you. If you are not however, and ever get to come this way, check out a little boutique store downtown called Charley and Bella’s. I would link up to them, but they don’t have a website, I will however link up to their facebook page and the yelp review, which has all of the info you would need to get a hold of them. They are a cute boutique store that has a lot of fabulous home furnishings, kitchenware, place settings and a great kitchen section (which I frequent quite often). This is one of the places Doug and I registered for our wedding last year and got some GREAT stuff, including a lot of Vietri. So, point of the story, if you make it to town, check them out! All of the items in this giveaway I found there.

I Heart The Pioneer Woman
Well folks, I’m not going to lie, this post is going to be a quick one (maybe). I am on my lunch break, don’t have much time but have been meaning to post this for a while. I also have to apologize for the ugly pictures, I was making a large batch for the dinner we had with friends the other night, so it was quick and dark out. Now that that’s out of the way, I just have to say, The Pioneer Woman is a genius. I know I’ve talked about her before, and I am sure most of my readers are well versed with her blog. …
